africa
so perfect
Mana Pools (Zimbabwe)
This is very likely the most special African park I have visited so far. Located in Northern Zimbabwe, in the Lower Zambezi Valley, this unique and somehow remote park offers something which most other African parks fail to offer: freedom.
Kalahari (Botswana)
Hundreds (literally) of km of straight drive through pure wilderness
Hwange National Park (Zimbabwe)
Wild and less known, but full of interesting wildlife. Rich birdlife
Serengeti (Tanzania)
Probably one of the most famous of all national parks in Africa, it is famous for its endless horizons and open spaces, the migration of wildebeest and zebras and for its wild density of carnivores.
Ngorongoro (Tanzania)
The iconic highlands of Tanzania where Masaai, their cattle and wildlife live in harmony together. And, of course, the Crater, with an incredible density of wild animals
Tarangire (Tanzania)
Less famous than the closely located Serengeti and Ngorongoro but at least equally nice.
Lake Manyara (Tanzania)
Through the narrow strip of land between this mineral lake in the east and the highlands in the west the landscape ranges from forest to savanna.
Moremi & Okavango (Botswana)
The easiest way to explore the mysteries of the Okavango Delta and its wild camps
Kibale (Uganda)
Although surrounded by agricultural lands, the Kibale forest in Uganda offers some spectacular sightings. Primates are by far the highlight of this site. And among all, the almost humans of all: the chimps.
Queen Elizabeth (Uganda)
This National Park located in south-western Uganda has some magnificent spots. It is probably one of the best spots in the world to get close to hippos and photograph them.
Etosha (Namibia)
Well, this is almost a must for African travellers. Welcome to Namibia. With its white dusts and sands, with the imense dryness all around, most of the action happens around the several water wholes.
Erindi (Namibia)
A small private game reserve on your way from Windhoek to Etosha in the Namibian savana. Definitely worth visiting.
Amboseli (Kenya)
Although it is one of the most icon parks of Kenya and fairly crowded with tourists, it is definitely worth visiting. With its vast herds of elephants and the stunning view of Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background, Amboseli will not disappoint anyone.
Kruger (South Africa)
OK. Maybe it seems too simple, too famous, or too commonplace. No, it is not. Kruger has something magic. It makes you crave to come back. I've been there three times.
Samburu (Kenya)
A small and remote national park from Kenya which offers a lot to its visitors.
Dzangha Sangha (Central African Republic)
Located in the Central African Republic, a country ravaged by gruesome fights, this forest reserve remains a hotspot for biodiversity. Its large herds of the elusive and endangered forest elephants, the lowland gorillas and the countless species of birds will delight any visitor of this remote part of Africa's wilderness.
Tai Forest (Ivory Coast)
Other places in Africa
Africa offers a lot also outside its famous national parks. Here is a selection of photos from various other places in Kenya, Ivory Coast and Liberia.
